DESCRIPTION:UPDATED     LOCATION CHANGE to IRSC - Dixon-Hendry Campus - Okeechobee  \n\nWhen there is a crisis\, we have a team of highly trained professionals working together to get to you and are prepared to help you overcome any obstacle.  They  are the men\, women and K-9 friends who are Okeechobee's First Responders. Join the Chamber and presenting sponsor SouthState Bank in recognizing those who serve as Public Safety\, Health Care providers and Military Veterans\, our Community Heroes.\n\n\n\nWe will honor our Community Heroes during a luncheon on Thursday\, August 25\, 2022\, from 11:30 AM   1:00 PM at IRSC\, Dixon Hendry Campus Okeechobee.. We are truly honored to have Retired Marine Corps Maj. Gen. James S. "Hammer" Hartsell as our guest speaker.\n\n\n\nGeneral Hartsell served in the United States Marine Corps with honor for 37 years of active and reserve duty\,  beginning as an enlisted Marine in 1981 and completing a distinguished and highly decorated  military career as a Major General.  Upon retirement from the Marine Corps in 2018\, he moved back to his home state of Florida and joined the Pasco Sheriff's Office where he launched the Future Operations Division.
