Description
CareerSource Heartland, Wells Fargo and Indian River State College are collaborating to offer you, our business partners, Employee Development and Training classes to upgrade the skill sets of your staff. The following courses are available:
Motivating and Engaging EmployeesA recent Gallop report found that a motivated, engaged and responsive workforce is substantially more productive than an unmotivated, apathetic group of employees. When workers feel engaged, they are more likely to work harder for the organization’s benefit, because they understand how their contributions impact the overall success. This course will discuss the fundamental aspects of what motivates people and how to align individual desires to create a shared common purpose for the entire team. Participants will examine the values that govern interpersonal interactions and use this knowledge to create a unifying team vision while creating a team environment of mutual support.
Dealing with Difficult People
Conflict can have many causes – disagreements about who does what, or about how things are done, as well as disagreements related to personality and style. And inevitably, conflicts will arise in the workplace, so it’s critical to be able to deal with them successfully. If you avoid conflict that requires quick, decisive action, or if you take an aggressive approach when you need to gain the commitment of the other person, you may make the situation worse. Unresolved conflict can intensify and hinder your productivity as you spend more time worrying about the conflict than achieving our goals. And remember, the costs of prolonged conflict can be high-negative emotions, blocked communication, and stress. But choosing the appropriate response based on the type of conflict is important.
